            Softball Recap: Cleveland Eagles vs. Nathan Hale Raiders        
        
		
        
        
            Cleveland had lost nine straight at home dating back to last season, but  on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-8 to make it ten. They lost  22-0 to the Nathan Hale Raiders. The  match marked the first time this year in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.
As for Nathan Hale,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 5-10. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
For Nathan Hale's part,  Francis Shutts was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Shutts has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-5 with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  double. Those  three  RBI gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Kat Gouge, who  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with one  home run, three  runs,  and three  RBI. Those  three  runs gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ella Fialdini, who  got on base  in all six of her plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cleveland will host Evergreen  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Nathan Hale, they will challenge Holy Names Academy at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
