Basketball Recap: Brookeslee Colvin Key Part of a Team Effort in Vikings Win

Coeur d'Alene won the last time they faced Sandpoint and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Coeur d'Alene Vikings put the hurt on the Sandpoint Bulldogs with a sharp 62-40 victory. The Vikings pushed the score to 55-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs cut but never quite recovered from.

Coeur d'Alene's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brookeslee Colvin, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Colvin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed five or more in the last three games she's played. Kyndal Bridge also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Coeur d'Alene smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Sandpoint lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jordyn Tomco, who posted seven points. Jetta Thaete was another key player, putting up six points.
