Basketball Recap: Durango Takes a Loss

Durango and Air Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Durango had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Air Academy Kadets 55-25. The Demons haven't had much luck with the Kadets recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Air Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ramah Khammash led the charge by going 5-for-6 to rack up 12 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Khammash has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tatyonna Brown, who shot 42% from the field on her way to 14 points and five boards.

Durango's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Air Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 25-0.

Durango does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Air Academy, they will take on Green Mountain at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Air Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Green Mountain likes a good challenge.
