Soccer Game Preview: Farmersville vs. Celina

Farmersville hasn't had much luck against Celina recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Farmersville Farmers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Celina Bobcats at 7:15 p.m.

Farmersville managed to keep up with Aubrey until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Farmersville came up short against Aubrey, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Farmers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 407th, while the Chaparrals are ranked 179th).

Meanwhile, Celina came tearing into Saturday's match with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won 13 games by three goals or more so far this season.

Celina pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 40 goals over those five contests. As for Farmersville, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
