Softball Recap: South Sumter Victorious

South Sumter won the last time they faced Forest and things went their way on Friday too. The Raiders walked away with a 7-4 win over the Wildcats.

Emily Barnes made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Nathalie Williams was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Emily Shepherd, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

South Sumter's record now sits at 9-5. As for Forest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

South Sumter wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-5 victory against George Jenkins on the 28th. As for Forest, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-3 loss against University Christian on the 28th.
