Basketball Recap: Delavan's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Delavan had won three straight games and Kelton Nafzinger did his part to make it four on Friday. The Delavan Panthers enjoyed a cozy 59-45 victory over the Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers thanks in part to Nafzinger, who went 9 for 12 en route to 19 points and six boards. Those 19 points gave him a new career-high.

Delavan's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-15. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.8 points. As for Mt. Pulaski, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-12.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Delavan Panthers face off against the Illini Central Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on February 1st. As for Mt. Pulaski, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-51 defeat against Pawnee on the 25th.
