Baseball Recap: Milken Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Milken finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They fell just short of the Crossroads Roadrunners by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 5-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Jordan Liebman was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Milken saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Benjamin Bedil, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Milken's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7. As for Crossroads, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Milken will head out to face off against St. Monica at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crossroads, they will venture away from home to challenge Windward at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
