Rawlins County was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Trego. The Buffaloes came in at 22 in the state poll after placing at number 28 last week.
Rawlins County extended the longest winning streak in Northwest Kansas this week by beating the Golden Eagles, 26-8. The win marks sixth in a row for the Deone Horinek's team.
Ryan Kuhlman and Isaac Alinor gave Dighton a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Kuhlman threw for 46 yards and two touchdowns, while Alinor ran for 136 yards. Kuhlman also contributed to the rushing game with 66 yards on the ground.
P.J. Carter made the biggest impact on defense this week as Hoxie fell to Ness City. The 5-foot-9 senior recorded one fumble and grabbed 1.0 sack.
Callahan Grund was the best wideout in the league this week as Wallace County bested Greeley County. Grund tallied two receptions for 73 yards. Caden Daily helped Wallace County's passing attack out by catching two balls for 24 yards.
Kyle Gfeller provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Wildcats topped the Jackrabbits. He completed two passes for 86 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 58 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Jantz Budde of Wichita County is the league leader in passing yards this season with 721. He has also thrown one touchdown. On the ground, the Buffaloes' Michael Capo has rushed for 672 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is James Peterson. The Rawlins County star has 14 catches for 300 yards.
A big matchup in Northwest Kansas this week will be when Quinter takes on Rawlins County. As it stands, the Bulldogs are in fifth, while the Buffaloes are in second.
Wallace County took down Greeley County 59-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Gfeller in the win.
