The McDowell Trojans are taking a road trip to face off against the Oil City Oilers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. McDowell is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.4 goals per game this season.

McDowell will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Bradford on Thursday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Owls with a sharp 10-2 win. Tyler Perkins was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Oil City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 12-0 to Warren. While losing is never fun, Oil City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 551st, while Warren are ranked 153rd).

McDowell has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 55 goals over those nine matches. As for Oil City, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.

Everything went McDowell's way against Oil City in their previous meeting back in September, as McDowell made off with a 12-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
