Softball Recap: Shelbyville Dragons vs. Elysian Fields Yellowjackets
Shelbyville's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Elysian Fields Yellowjackets by a score of 6-1. That's more bragging rights for the Dragons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Taylor Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Shelbyville let Kylie Snell and Nicole Harvey run wild. Snell got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Harvey scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs Harvey has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Carsey Lovell, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
