Softball Recap: Elkhorn Elks vs. Big Foot Chiefs

The Elkhorn Elks were able to grind out a solid victory over the Big Foot Chiefs on Friday, taking the game 7-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Elks.

Veronica Siegler was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Siegler was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylie Patterson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mylee Calvillo, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Elkhorn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Big Foot only posted a batting average of .192.

Elkhorn's win bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Big Foot, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-10.

Elkhorn does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Big Foot, they will head out on the road to challenge Lodi at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
