League recap: Lincoln climbs in standings with win

Lincoln was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to first in Pioneer Valley. Earlier in the week, the Fighting Zebras defeated Natomas 65-12.

Colfax moved up to 212 from 274 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Falcons climbed the ranks as a result of besting El Camino 35-28.

Todd Valliere was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 168 yards as Placer bested the Nighthawks. Cameron Scott also contributed to the rushing game with 78 yards on the ground.

Cobleigh was the best receiver in Pioneer Valley this week as Ken Lowe's team beat Natomas. Cobleigh racked up 3 receptions for 147 yards.

Brad Botsford was a key player and the best on defense this week as Bear River bested Union Mine. The 5-foot-11 senior.

Michael Wilson put up the best numbers through the air as Colfax defeated the Eagles. He finished with 23 completions for 308 yards and 4 touchdowns. Wilson's favorite target this week was Kyle Bryant, who caught 9 passes for 134 yards.

Tony Martello's team's Wilson and Chas Reisinger have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Wilson has thrown for 559 yards this season, while Reisinger has 13 catches for 217 yards. The Hillmen's Valliere leads the league in rushing yards with 234.

The Fighting Zebras took down Ryan Battle's team 65-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Cobleigh ran for 42 yards during the win.
