Richland has gone 9-1 against Bishop Carroll recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Rams will head out on the road to take on the Huskies at 4:30 p.m. Richland will be strutting in after a win while Bishop Carroll will be coming in after a defeat.
Richland will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Somerset, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Rams walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Golden Eagles on Monday.
Dylan Wyandt looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caden Robertson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Braden Yoder also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Bishop Carroll came up short against Bishop Guilfoyle on Friday, falling 19-4.
Bishop Carroll saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Holtz, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Preston Gillin was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Richland's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Bishop Carroll, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Bishop Carroll's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Richland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .348. It's a different story for Bishop Carroll, though, as they've only averaged .217. Will they be able to contain Richland's hitters?
Everything went Richland's way against Bishop Carroll in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Richland made off with a 13-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
