            St. Charles North dropped their record down to 19-9 on Monday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Lake Park Lancers by a score of  2-1. That's two games in a row now that the North Stars have lost by  just one  run.
As for Lake Park, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games.
 For Lake Park's part,  Gianna Furlano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits. Furlano has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 12 consecutive appearances.
 St. Charles North and Lake Park should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The North Stars will  take on  Central  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday with a big rank  advantage  (9 vs. 199). Meanwhile,  Lake Park (ranked 14th) will meet Glenbrook North (ranked 147th)  at 4:45  p.m.  on Tuesday.
