Volleyball Recap: Camp Point Central Takes a Loss

Camp Point Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pittsfield Saukees. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Saukees apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Camp Point Central sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 23-25, 25-14.

Josie McClintock was a one-woman wrecking crew For Pittsfield. as she had 17 digs and three aces. What's more, McClintock posted three assists, the most she's had over her last seven matchups. Shelby Patterson also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Camp Point Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Pittsfield, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-6.

Camp Point Central has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Beardstown on the 7th. As for Pittsfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Seymour on the 7th.
