Softball Game Preview: Cordova Wolves vs. Houston Mustangs

Cordova is 0-4 against Houston since April of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Cordova Wolves will head out on the road to challenge the Houston Mustangs at 6:00 p.m.

Cordova fell victim to Arlington and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 15-0. That's two games in a row now that the Wolves have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Meanwhile, Houston got themselves on the board against Briarcrest Christian on Friday, but Briarcrest Christian never followed suit. They were the clear victor by a 7-0 margin over the Saints.

Lindsey Barnes was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Alivia Ramirez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Barnes wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Houston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits every time they've taken the field this season.

The win got Houston back to even at 2-2. As for Cordova, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Cordova suffered a grim 16-1 defeat to Houston in their previous meeting on Monday. Can Cordova avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
