After losing to Rocky Mount Academy the last time they met, Greenfield decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Eagles on Monday.

Christopher Tankersley made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josef Popowitch, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mack Wiggins, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs.

Greenfield's record is now 15-5-1. As for Rocky Mount Academy, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Looking ahead, Greenfield will be playing at home against DASH at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights are facing the United at the right time seeing as the United are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Rocky Mount Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on Wilson Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
