Softball Recap: Voorhees Takes a Loss

Voorhees lost against Franklin back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Vikings came up short against the Warriors, falling 8-2.

Ava Zielinskie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and six unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Christina Sullivan was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Voorhees' loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-8. As for Franklin, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.

Looking ahead, Voorhees will look to defend their home field on Monday against Nottingham at 4:30 p.m. Franklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
