Basketball Game Preview: Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill Lion vs. GRACE Christian Eagles

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill hasn't had much luck against GRACE Christian recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill Lion are taking a road trip to face off against the GRACE Christian Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They were dealt a 56-20 defeat at the hands of Thales Academy Apex. While losing is never fun, the Lion can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 543rd, while the Titans are ranked 213th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Claire Schutte, who posted two points and 21 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Belle Heinrich, who put up seven points.

Even though they lost, Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, GRACE Christian played a tough game back in December of 2024 in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against South Wake, falling 58-7. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for GRACE Christian, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-7.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill suffered a grim 61-39 defeat to GRACE Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2018. Can Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
