Basketball Recap: Legion Collegiate Academy Takes a Loss

Legion Collegiate Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 72-34 defeat at the hands of the Christ School Greenies. The match marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Isaiah Worley and Bryan Jeudy certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Worley went 6 for 12 on his way to 16 points, while Jeudy posted five points.

Leading Christ School to victory were Madden Collins and Dacen Petty. Collins went 8 of 9 en route to 19 points and six steals, while Petty went 10 for 15 on his way to 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The game was Collins' third in a row with at least ten points. Thomas Vickery also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Legion Collegiate Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Christ School, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-1.

Legion Collegiate Academy will take on Gaston Day at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gaston Day knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Legion Collegiate Academy likes a good challenge. As for Christ School, they will square off against Asheville Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Christ School's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
