McMinn County's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Shelby County on Thursday. McMinn County put the hurt on the Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneers with a sharp 14-4 victory. The Cherokees not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 10th.

McMinn County's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Boyd-Buchanan, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-8-1.

Looking ahead, McMinn County will take on Alcoa at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Alcoa will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something McMinn County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Boyd-Buchanan, they will challenge Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
