Baseball Game Preview: Troup Tigers vs. Tatum Eagles

For the second straight game, Troup will face off against Tatum. The Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Troup 3.5, Tatum 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Troup took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Tatum, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Eagles 6-5 on Tuesday. Six seems to be a good number for the Tigers as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Troup got a massive performance out of Hayden Huml, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Huml's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Joshua Childress, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.

Huml wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Troup kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Troup and bumps their season record up to 14-6. As for Tatum, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-5.
