Football Recap: Cedar Creek Christian Takes a Loss

Cedar Creek Christian extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They took a blow against the Eagle's View Warriors, falling 50-14. On the bright side, the 14- point effort marked the Saints' highest-scoring game to date.

As for Eagle's View, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.0 points on average over those games.

Eagle's View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Garland, who picked up 139 receiving yards and three scores, and also threw for 20 yards and one touchdown. Garland's longest reception was for an incredible 95 yards. Another passer making a difference was Jordan Daniels, who threw for 304 yards and five TDs on only 19 passes.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar Creek Christian will venture away from home to take on Harvest Community at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eagle's View, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mt. Bethel Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on October 3. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Warriors 14.7, the Eagles 10.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
