Basketball Recap: Wellsville-Middletown Comes Up Short

Wellsville-Middletown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the North Callaway Thunderbirds, falling 57-37. The Tigers were probably out for revenge after losing 64-50 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Callaway to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natalie Shryock, who went 7 for 14 en route to 18 points. Lakyn Hartley was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.

Wellsville-Middletown's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for North Callaway, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Wellsville-Middletown has already played their next matchup (against New Haven), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. North Callaway has already played their next game, a 75-29 loss against Clopton on the 23rd.
