Baseball Recap: Lamar Consolidated Takes a Loss

Saturday just wasn't the day for Lamar Consolidated's offense. They came up short against the Sealy Tigers on Saturday, falling 14-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

Lamar Consolidated saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mikey Cuellar, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. The dominant performance also gave Cuellar a new career-high in hits (two).

Lamar Consolidated is on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8. As for Sealy, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-6 record.

Coming up, Lamar Consolidated will be taking part in a tournament against Stafford at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lamar Consolidated has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up.
