Softball Game Preview: Addison Trail Blazers vs. Hinsdale South Hornets

The Addison Trail Blazers will square off against the Hinsdale South Hornets at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Addison Trail will be strutting in after a victory while Hinsdale South will be coming in after a loss.

Addison Trail took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They skirted past Leyden 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blazers have posted since March 21st.

Hinsdale South couldn't beat De La Salle on Tuesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the sixth inning. The Hornets fell 9-6 to the Meteors.

Hinsdale South saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aliyah Hamilton, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Addison Trail has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Hinsdale South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-18-1 record this season.

Everything went Addison Trail's way against Hinsdale South in their previous matchup back in April, as Addison Trail made off with a 15-2 win. Will the Blazers repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
