Baseball Game Preview: Pacific Grove Breakers vs. Greenfield Bruins

For the second straight game, Pacific Grove will face off against Greenfield. The Breakers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Bruins at 4:00 p.m. The last nine games Pacific Grove has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Pacific Grove and Greenfield, and Greenfield kept the tradition alive. The Breakers fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday.

For Greenfield's part, Nate Hernandez was excellent, earning one run and three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave Hernandez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Osvaldo Gaeta, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Pacific Grove has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.4 runs. As for Greenfield, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.
