Baseball Recap: Basha Comes Up Short

Basha was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highland Hawks. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

Mason Cantu made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.

Basha now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Highland, their record now sits at 6-1.

Coming up, Basha will challenge Brophy College Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Broncos' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Highland, they will face off against Campo Verde at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Coyotes have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season.
