Soccer Game Preview: Eastern Mennonite vs. Miller School of Albemarle

The Eastern Mennonite Flames will challenge the Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Eastern Mennonite and four for Miller School of Albemarle.

Eastern Mennonite had taken Virginia Episcopal School down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Flames took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishops.

Joey Fink and Cole Herr scored both of Eastern Mennonite's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, Miller School of Albemarle managed to keep up with The Covenant until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Mavericks came up short against the Eagles, falling 4-1. That's two games in a row now that Miller School of Albemarle have lost by exactly three goals.

Eastern Mennonite's loss dropped their record down to 7-6-1. As for Miller School of Albemarle, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Everything went Eastern Mennonite's way against Miller School of Albemarle when the teams last played back in October of 2021, as Eastern Mennonite made off with an 8-1 win. In that match, the Flames amassed a halftime lead of 5-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
