Byron waltzed into their matchup  on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came within a single  run of losing the streak, but they secured  a   4-3 W against the Stewartville Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Bears have posted  since April 18, 2024.
 Tallie Behrens made a splash no matter where she played. She  struck out six batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   six  hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run.
 Behrens wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Kaydence Fjerstad, who  went 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases and one  run.
Byron's victory was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 10-2. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Stewartville, they moved to 8-4 with that  loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
 Looking ahead, Byron will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake City  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Stewartville, they will venture away from home to  square off against Faribault  at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday.
