Basketball Recap: Roaring Fork Beats Meeker for Their Third Straight Win

Roaring Fork entered their tilt with Meeker on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They strolled past the Meeker Cowboys with points to spare, taking the game 61-46. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Cowboys are ranked 275th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Roaring Fork's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lucas Carballeira led the charge by putting up 17 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Carballeira has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kiko Pena, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Meeker lost, don't look at Drew Drake. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-8 to rack up 17 points and six boards. Tyler Sanders was another key player, scoring 12 points and three steals.

Roaring Fork's record is now 14-5. As for Meeker, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
