Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Bullard's 14th in Last 16 Outings

Sanger typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Bullard proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Apaches. Considering the Knights have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Amyah Fabian spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Etta Maxey and Kyla Lujan did most of the damage at the plate: Maxey went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Lujan went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Lujan has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Chrissa Canel, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

Bullard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Bullard is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Sanger, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6.

Bullard didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-5 defeat against Madera on the 9th. As for Sanger, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Edison on the 9th.
