Basketball Recap: Cedar Catholic Wins Going Away Against Nebraska Christian

With a playoff win on the line, Cedar Catholic rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on the Nebraska Christian Eagles with a sharp 65-42 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-21.

Anisten Wortmann had an outrageously good game as she went 5-for-9 en route to 16 points in addition to five boards and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Arens, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

Cedar Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Cedar Catholic's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-11. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points over those games. As for Nebraska Christian, they moved to 19-7 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.
