Baseball Recap: Dansville Has No Trouble Against Newark

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Livonia, Dansville was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Newark Reds. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Dansville let Jake Kreiley and Brady Henchen run wild. Kreiley went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Henchen went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Henchen has become a key player for Dansville: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Delaney, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.

Dansville now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Newark, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Coming up, Dansville will head out on the road to square off against Haverling at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Newark, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Penn Yan Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Reds are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
