Soccer Game Preview: Nogales vs. Pueblo

The Nogales Apaches are taking a road trip to square off against the Pueblo Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Nogales is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Salpointe Catholic on Friday. Nogales fell just short of Salpointe Catholic by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Apaches can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Lancers are ranked third).

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Pueblo's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Flowing Wells by a score of 1-0.

Pueblo now has a losing record at 6-7-1. As for Nogales, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Nogales skirted past Pueblo 3-2 in their previous matchup back in December of 2017. Does Nogales have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pueblo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
