Basketball Game Preview: Clark Cougars vs. United Longhorns

The Clark Cougars will challenge the United Longhorns at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Clark's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while United has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

On Tuesday, Clark was able to grind out a solid victory over Canyon, taking the game 53-43. Given Clark's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Canyon is ranked 540th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday United sidestepped United South for a 59-56 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Longhorns have posted against the Panthers since February 11, 2020.

Clark is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for United, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.

Clark beat United 62-55 when the teams last played back in November. Does Clark have another victory up their sleeve, or will United turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
