Football Recap: Camden Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with South Pointe

Camden faced South Pointe in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Bulldogs came up short against the Stallions, falling 28-7. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

South Pointe was led to victory by Malik Ratliff and R.J. Brown. Ratliff picked up 160 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Brown rushed for 91 yards and one TD. Those two receiving touchdowns gave Ratliff a new career-high.

Camden's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for South Pointe, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Coincidentally, Camden and South Pointe will both be playing York the next time they take the field. The Stallions will host the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bulldogs will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th.
