Baseball Game Preview: Mynderse Academy Blue Devils vs. Waterloo Tigers

Mynderse Academy is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Waterloo a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Mynderse Academy Blue Devils will be playing at home against the Waterloo Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Mynderse Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Penn Yan Academy by a score of 6-5 on Monday.

Byron Catalano made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with eight stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerry Furman, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Waterloo fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Midlakes on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Screaming Eagles by a score of 5-4.

Waterloo's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Mynderse Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Mynderse Academy skirted past Waterloo 1-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
