Basketball Recap: Colleyville Heritage Takes a Loss

Colleyville Heritage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Grapevine Mustangs. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly three points.

Despite the loss, Colleyville Heritage still got an impressive performance from Samari Stevenson, who posted 14 points and six boards. That was a full 36.8% of Colleyville Heritage's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Payne, who had four points and five rebounds.

Colleyville Heritage's record is now 4-17. As for Grapevine, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-16.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Argyle the next time they take the court. Grapevine will host Argyle at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, while Colleyville Heritage will head out to face them at 5:45 p.m. on January 21st.
