Softball Recap: McMahon Takes a Loss

McMahon extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping their season record down to 2-6 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Danbury Hatters. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Senators of the 12-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Alexa Smith made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

As for Danbury, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

On Danbury's side, their victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Payton Linsley, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McMahon will square off against Ludlowe at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Senators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Danbury, they will take on Wilton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
