Basketball Recap: Astronaut Comes Up Short

Astronaut lost against Cocoa back in February of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Astronaut War Eagles opened the new year with a less-than-successful 51-38 defeat to the Cocoa Tigers.

Cocoa found their leader in sophomore Tony Adderley, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. TJ Parks was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Astronaut has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Cocoa, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season.

Astronaut will face off against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cocoa, they will challenge Titusville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
