Recap: Guilford Grizzlies vs. Lauralton Hall Crusaders

The Guilford Grizzlies's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They escaped with a win against Lauralton Hall by the margin of a single free throw, 45-44. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Guilford also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Keira Reynolds was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with seven steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Guilford's points. Another player making a difference was Alexa Kukta, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Lauralton Hall lost, one person who can't be blamed is Maura Bosse. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Katelyn Landin was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.

Guilford's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Lauralton Hall, they dropped their record down to 5-14 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Guilford will take on Lyman Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Connecticut (Guilford is ranked 105th, while Lyman Hall is ranked 82nd). Lauralton Hall will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Law at 7:00 p.m. on February 12th. Hopefully Lauralton Hall focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
