Soccer Recap: Middletown Takes a Loss

Middletown lost against Altoona back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Blue Raiders fell 4-2 to the Mountain Lions. While losing is never fun, Middletown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while Altoona are ranked 50th).

Eliza Artell wasn't going to let Altoona walk away unscathed as she scored both of Middletown's goals, bringing her season total up to 13 goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Middletown and nudges their season record down to 7-4-1. As for Altoona, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2-1.

Coming up, Middletown will take on Big Spring at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Altoona, they will host Somerset at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be Altoona's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
