Soccer Recap: Massaponax Comes Up Short

Massaponax was the 3-1 winner over Brooke Point when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Black Hawks on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Massaponax came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Brooke Point are ranked 99th).

Massaponax's loss dropped their record down to 10-2-1. As for Brooke Point, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Massaponax will venture away from home to take on Eastern View at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Brooke Point, they will head out to square off against Hylton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
