Basketball Recap: Paxton Gets the Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Paxton challenged Central on Friday. The Bobcats came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 62-49. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won nine in a row.

Jacob Lowry continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Case Moore, who posted seven points and five boards.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carson Baxley, who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Reeves, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 15 points.

Paxton's record is now 6-0. As for Central, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Paxton will take on Laurel Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central, they will host Bethlehem at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Jaguars' defense better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 75.4 points per game this season.
