Basketball Recap: El Campo Find Success

If La Marque wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played El Campo, they should've done a better job of containing Riannah Miles. The El Campo Ricebirds took down the La Marque Cougars 59-40 on Tuesday thanks in part to Miles, who shot 6-for-9 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Acuna, who posted five points and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

The victory got El Campo back to even at 7-7. As for La Marque, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

El Campo will head out to face off against Wharton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for La Marque, they will be playing at home against Columbia at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
