Volleyball Game Preview: Shafter Generals vs. Wasco Tigers

The Shafter Generals will venture away from home to square off against the Wasco Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Shafter has 26 straight victories, Wasco has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Shafter made easy work of Kennedy and carried off a 3-0 win.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Wasco took on Taft on Tuesday. The Tigers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. Tigers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Wildcats since Tuesday.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Taft scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-22, 20-25, 25-19.

Shafter's victory bumped their record up to 30-1. As for Wasco, their loss dropped their record down to 7-16.

Shafter took their win against Wasco in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Generals since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
