Avon Park hasn't had much luck against Sebring recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Avon Park Red Devils are taking a road trip to take on the Sebring Blue Streaks at 6:30 p.m. Avon Park is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.

Avon Park barely beat Lake Placid the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Avon Park's pitcher stepped up to hand Lake Placid a 9-0 shutout on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Not much got past Paisley Macias, who gave up just four hits to keep Lake Placid off the board. What's more, Macias gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Janely Ayala, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Kinley DeLoach also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Avon Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .515 or higher in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Sebring had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Terriers. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Sebring's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Avon Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Avon Park might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from Sebring in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Avon Park avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
