Basketball Recap: Fort Myers Comes Up Short at Home Against Oasis

Fort Myers unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the Oasis Sharks and fell 83-49. The Green Wave lost against the Sharks in their previous head to head back in January of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 66-59 score last time.

Oasis' win on Monday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayden Labbe, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Zack Louzao, who went 7-for-12 en route to 17 points.

Looking ahead, Fort Myers will challenge Estero at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oasis, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 68-20 win against Island Coast on the 18th.
