The Southern states are deep into their state playoffs and three teams from that part of the country continue to dominate the MaxPreps Xcellent 50 National Baseball Rankings.

Parkview hit six home runs during its playoff series win last week in the second round of the Class 6A state playoffs in Georgia. Meanwhile, No. 2 Olympia and No. 4 Park Vista both won their second playoff games to advance to the quarterfinals of the Class 8A state playoffs in Florida.

As a result, not much changed at the top of the Xcellent 50, as the top seven teams all won last week. Only three new teams entered the rankings this week as undefeated Jasper (Ind.), Cullman (Ala.) and Deer Park (Texas) joined the list.
